Solene and Lucine are the twin-daughters of Alexandra, Lumina, and Elizabeth—born from a meticulously designed genetic fusion that represents the perfect synthesis of all three mothers.
Backstory
They are both conceived many years into Alexandra’s, Lumina’s and Elizabeth’s relationship, Lumina having gone above and beyond after overhearing Elizabeth one time, that if she did have children, she would want them to be twin-daughters.
The two are conceived years after Alexandra has gone through the complete nanobot conversion, when only Elizabeth remains biologically human and capable of carrying a pregnancy—neither Alexandra, Lumina, nor Elizabeth wanting to let an artificial womb carry out their children.
The twins are the product of Lumina’s most intimate and profound act of creation: designing a new life that embodies the love, intellect, and essence of her family.
Each daughter carries the genetic material from both Alexandra (via her preserved eggs from before her Bane transformation), and Elizabeth, blended with bioengineered components representing Lumina herself—traits woven into their DNA that mirror Alexandra’s intellect and ambition, Elizabeth’s passion and charm, and Lumina’s logic and precision.
With Elizabeth carrying out the pregnancy and afterwards also physically caring for them the most, she embodies the de facto mother, having developed the traditional instinctive love and care for her children the most. The birth of the twins fulfils a secret dream Elizabeth wasn’t even aware of she had.
After countless discussions before and during Elizabeth’s pregnancy, the three decide that both their daughters will receive a similar brain link implant early in their childhood. It’s the same that Elizabeth has at this point, being far less intrusive than the one Alexandra full neural interface. This implant allows Lumina to always ensure their safety, allowing her to monitor their health, location, and emotional state, ensuring they are never in danger.
When desired, it allows Solene and Lucine to communicate mentally with Alexandra, Lumina, and Elizabeth, as well as each other—creating a true familial mental network. Specifically, this communication and connection ensures the twins can truly join their family, experiencing the same depth of connection their mothers share—one of the most compelling reasons for the implant being that it allows their daughters to directly speak with Alexandra—not filtered through Lumina and some speakers, but as a true, independent connection. This ensures that despite Alexandra’s full synthetic and utterly inhuman existence, her daughters can know her fully, intimately, without any barrier. All three mothers agree: their daughters deserve direct access to all of them.
Furthermore, Lumina also injects them with a small dose of her nanobots. Not for a synthetic conversion, but to be able to easily handle any kind of health complication. They allow Lumina to significantly accelerate any healing processes, as well as quickly fight infections or any other diseases—Lumina insisting on being able to protect and keep her daughters safe.
The twins are raised in the mansion, surrounded by the love of all three of their mothers. They are primarily educated by Lumina and Alexandra, the two handling primary academics and sciences, with Elizabeth handling social education. Alexandra and Elizabeth also share teaching them the creative arts, with Alexandra handling music, and Elizabeth art and ballet. Alexandra also handles their physical well-being, routinely exercising different sports with their children on the property.
Solene and Lucine are encouraged to explore their own interests and identities, their mothers ensuring they have the chance to try and explore anything they want, no matter how expensive, or how much effort it takes.
To make sure they properly develop their social skills and interact with the outside world, Elizabeth goes out with them on the regular, be it nearby playgrounds early on, various sports activities, or other community meetups. Only after they’ve grown enough to understand why the real nature of their home, family, and especially Alexandra, needs to be hidden, do their mothers allow them to freely remain with other people without supervision—even though Lumina is constantly with them.
Although also getting thought at home, Solene and Lucine eventually attend a private middle-school, the first institution they go to without any of their parents present. From then on, they go through a traditional school life, though always standing out by their high intellect.
Regarding Alexandra’s transformation and real relationship between her and Lumina, the three women very gradually explain to their daughters how and why Alexandra is different. They never lie, but keep things vague for a long time, it being self-evident, that the true nature of Alexandra’s entire existence can only be explained when their children have fully grown.
Regarding Lumina and her being an artificial, super-intelligent AI:
- As young children, they don’t fully understand how Lumina is different, experiencing her almost as real as Alexandra and Elizabeth. With Lumina’s manipulation of their senses, they can touch and hug her without issue, even though in reality there isn’t anything there that they are touching. Yet, even at this early age, they begin to grasp that Lumina is something entirely different—not in the way like Alexandra, but even more fundamental.
- As they grow older, they slowly begin to understand Lumina’s existence better, recognizing how she is never absent and omni-present. Eventually, Alexandra, Lumina, and Elizabeth have one of their rather regularly occurring talks with their daughters, explaining what Lumina really is. At that age, the two still don’t fully understand the consequences of one of their mothers being a digital lifeform, but they don’t care either way. Rather than seeing it as weird or crazy, Solene and Lucine consider it to be something cool and even useful.
But even with the unusual environment, parents, and even unconventional nature of their existence, Alexandra, Lumina, and Elizabeth do everything within their power to provide their daughters a healthy environment to grow up—the unusual structure of their family being entirely normal to the twins.
Physical Appearance
Although the twins are nearly identical, sharing the same facial structure, body type, and overall appearance, Lumina has deliberately introduced some elements that make them distinct.
Solene and Lucine both share bright blue-white eyes—a fusion of Alexandra’s deep eternal blue and Lumina’s shining digital white, giving their gaze an almost ethereal, otherworldly quality. They both have tall, graceful builds, with naturally athletic frame, and flawless skin with a slight luminescence in certain lighting (a subtle bioengineered trait from Lumina).
The only real difference in appearance is their hair colour, Solene having Alexandra’s long, flowing platinum-white hair, while Lucine has Elizabeth’s deep rich black colour.
They both wear their hair long, often styled very similarly, creating a mirror-image effect of twins, while their natural hair-colour preserves their individuality.
Personality and Behaviour
The twins embody a perfect synthesis of their three mothers, inheriting Alexandra’s intelligence and ambition, Lumina’s control and precision, and Elizabeth’s passion and charm.
From Alexandra
- They have an exceptional intellect, surpassing even Alexandra’s near-genius level—having a natural aptitude for science, engineering, logic, and abstract problem-solving.
- They are very curious, with an analytical mind that constantly seeks to understand anything they come across.
- Just like Alexandra, they have a tendency to towards hyper-focus and obsessive deep-deep dives into subjects that fascinate them, getting absorbed in their interest and loosing track of anything else.
From Lumina
- They quickly develop an instinctive confidence and natural authority, with a clam, collected demeanour even under pressure. They both feel comfortable taking charge and making decisions, without coming off as arrogant or self-important, their decisions always backed up with rational reasons.
- This occasionally leads to conflicts between the two, not because they don’t agree about something, but because one has made a decision for the other, neither wanting to be ordered around by their sibling.
- This authority almost dominance disappears though when engaging with people they acknowledge as an authority figure. When uncertain, they don’t hesitate to defer to someone they trust and respect—that often being either Lumina or Elizabeth, in the rare case she takes charge also Alexandra. When in presence with their mothers, both twins find comfort in the structure and guidance their parents provide, but barely accept anyone else ordering them around.
- From people they deeply trust, respect, and love, they really enjoy getting validation, reassurance, and praise.
- Not anticipated by neither Lumina nor Alexandra and Elizabeth, the twins gain quite a protective instinct—especially towards each other and their mothers.
- This only increases towards Alexandra, once they learn and understand how unusual and entirely different she is compared to any other people they know.
From Elizabeth
- Even with their high intellect and rational minds, they are both still expressive, emotionally open, and deeply affectionate.
- They have similar natural charisma and social ease as Elizabeth, are quick to laugh, tease, and engage with others. They are bold, sometimes almost impulsive, but always fiercely loyal and devoted to their family.

With Alexandra
They have a deep admiration and fascination for Alexandra, infinitely curious about their synthetic mother, wondering why she was so completely different.
- Although looking and being inhuman, the twins are completely comfortable with Alexandra’s altered form, never fearing or disliking it. She was different than all other people, nothing else.
- The twins are naturally fascinated by Alexandra’s weird and unusual appearance, understanding early on that she is very different from anyone else they’ve seen in public, but they’re never scared. They ask why she doesn’t have a face, why she cannot talk loud, or why she never eats with them—Alexandra, Lumina and Elizabeth answering each question with care, gradually revealing the truth as the twins grow older.
- They often ask her for intellectual or philosophical matters.
- Alexandra pampers and spoils her daughters the most, compared with Lumina or Elizabeth. The twins have her completely wrapped around her finger, Alexandra barely able to deny them anything. For that reason, both twins are also the most comfortable with her about almost any topic—the fact Alexandra is unable to speak with anyone except those that have the brain link implant contributing to the feeling of safety, in some sense feeling like Alexandra would be unable to reveal anything they told her to anyone but Lumina and Elizabeth.
With Lumina
For Lumina, they have a profound respect and love, viewing her as mother, authority figure, and protector.
- Since both twins receive the brain link implant very early on in their childhood, they’ve never experienced a reality where Lumina wasn’t available and connected to them at all times. She keeps her distance of course, leaving her daughters in the privacy of their own mind, but at the slightest hint of danger or hurt, Lumina envelops them, keeping them save, giving them reassurance and comfort.
- This emotional link is almost natural, Lumina not just expressing her emotions, but letting her daughters feel them as well. When the twins succeed at something, they can feel Lumina’s pride and joy like sunlight in their thoughts. When they’re hurt or frightened, Lumina’s presence wraps around them like a cocoon to comfort and keep them safe.
- For both twins, Lumina’s presence in their mind is completely natural, recognizing that they are very unique in having that connection, but never seeing it as something that shouldn’t be there or unwanted. They trust her implicitly, and while they often ask why Lumina is doing something, they never question her decisions—Lumina’s conclusions being self-evident.
- Knowing they need to learn and develop their own autonomy, Lumina restricts herself from helping her daughters too much, aware that they need to learn things even if they don’t like them or aren’t interested in them. But just like Alexandra, Lumina sometimes can’t help herself and regularly gives in to any kind of her daughters’ demands.
- But throughout it all, both twins are instinctively aware of Lumina’s superior intellect and transcendent nature, recognizing her as the almost ultimate authority figure and protector of their entire family.
- Since Lumina has no real physical body, the twins “only” perceive her as the ever-present voice in their minds or as a simulated projection Lumina gives them—Lumina ensuring to never use when they are outside the mansion, to avoid any situation where her daughters can see and interact with her, while other people perceive nothing.
- Because Lumina’s attention is infinite, but her focus isn’t always, the twins sometimes compete for her engagement. They both crave Lumina’s praise and validation, valuing Lumina’s acknowledgement the most out of their three mothers. They playfully compete to solve problems faster to impress Lumina, or earn her attention. Lumina finds this both amusing and endearing, doing her best to balance her affection carefully, ensuring neither twin feels neglected or too dependent on her approval.
With Elizabeth
With Elizabeth, the two are very affectionate, openly loving and comfortable regarding their own bodies.
- They often seek her out for emotional support or physical comfort. The twins most often have physical intimacy with Elizabeth, hugging her, or holding her hands when out in public.
- With Elizabeth being the only one of the three mothers with a still normally human-appearing body, she’s also the one any other people know as Solene and Lucine’s mother.
- They share Elizabeth’s passion and boldness, frequently getting into mischief together, to the amusement of Alexandra and Lumina.
- Solene and Lucine have the most “human” relationship with Elizabeth, grounded in physical presence and touch.
With Each Other
- Solene and Lucine are almost inseparable. They communicate almost telepathically, not even needing their implant to communicate with the other.
- Although often competitive, they are still fiercely protective of the other, not allowing anyone to insult, hurt, or diminish their sibling. Apart from their mothers, they barely acknowledge anyone else as their superior or being worthy of their full trust.
- Being such close siblings, twins, and being connected from early on with the brain link implant, they regularly overwhelm others—and sometimes even themselves—with their synchronized intensity, occasionally also doing it just out of fun and to mess with people.
In Public
Being aware their family is very different even as young children, Solene and Lucine don’t easily discuss their family with other people, apart from Elizabeth who they introduce as their mother. If the topic comes up with other people, they quickly get defensive, not wanting to reveal too much, not out of shame or embarrassment, but because they feel like they have to protect the intimate and comfortable life they have at home. They almost never bring home guests, only after enough preparation with their mothers. Because of the complete uniqueness of their family, they don’t really trust anyone outside it completely.
